Parents are encouraged to seek an interview with class teachers and/or administration personnel when a concern arises. The school staff is willing to discuss concerns in the early stages before the concern becomes a problem.
For interviews of this nature, parents are asked to please contact the school and arrange a mutually suitable appointment time. Please note that parent/teacher conferences are scheduled as a matter of course during terms 1 and 3. Protocol to address issues is in the following order:
Class teacher
Class teacher and administrator
Principal
All members of our school community are expected to demonstrate care, courtesy and cooperation at all times. It is expected that parents will conduct all discussions with staff in a cordial manner.
Under no circumstances may parents approach a student/s, other than their own, to admonish or question them. All issues with a student must be referred to school staff.
To ensure we have adequate and satisfactory communication between parents and teachers, we use the following methods:
Informal 'Meet the Teacher' meetings in the first few weeks of school are arranged by class teachers.
Written reports to parents are prepared twice a year at the end of each semester.
Interviews with all parents are arranged at the end of term 1 and term 3 and on request at other times throughout the year.
School newsletter that is distributed every second week via email (parents who do not have access to email may request a paper copy to be distributed fortnightly to you via your child). The newsletter is the prime means of communication between the school and home and it is encouraged that it be read thoroughly to be kept informed about school activities and functions.
School Facebook page that contains up to date news and notices about events.
