At Rochedale South State School, quality education programs provide the foundations for children’s future success. Our commitment to building these foundations is demonstrated through the range of quality, purposeful learning experiences offered from prep through to year 6. Our dedicated teaching team is committed to excellence in teaching and learning, engaging students in their learning and cater for the needs of students through:

  • Explicit, daily teaching in literacy and numeracy.

  • Science Program supported by our Primary Science Facilitator.

  • Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) embedded into class programs.

  • A variety of unique special education programs.

  • Sporting and camping programs (Year 5-6).

  • Health and Physical Education including a whole school swimming program.

  • Performing Arts including our KAPOW Week, an award winning choral program and school musical opportunities from Year 3 and auditions for Years 5 and 6.

  • A quality Instrumental Music Program is also on offer including strings and band.  Private lessons in piano and guitar are also available should parents wish to pay for these.

These learning opportunities are provided in a positive, safe, well-resourced school environment underpinned by a unique whole school Learning to Live Together Program based on the values of care, courtesy, cooperation, contribution and commitment. Our caring staff members reinforce these values with a fair, firm and consistent approach to discipline.

Rochedale South State School is a quality, community school with enthusiastic students engaged in stretching their talents and skills across a broad repertoire of learning opportunities. The size of the student population (540 students approximately) allows for a personal approach with each child being given maximum opportunities to participate in school activities and be successful.

We look forward to having you and your family as members of our school community.

Yours in education,

Mrs Stacey Wood
Principal
