Fundamental to the provision of quality teaching and learning experiences at Rochedale South State School is the provision of a high functioning learning environment which caters to the needs of students and is evidenced by:

  • Commitment to reviewing and implementing positive school practices.
  • Provision of a range of extra-curricular activities including camps, inter and intra school sport, Kilometre running club, choirs, school musical and playtime activities such as social skilling programs, and dancing.
  • Celebration of student and school achievement and establishment of student expectations on weekly assemblies and in the school newsletter.
  • A student welfare team that oversees the support and learning programs for students with special needs including both extension opportunities and support needs.
  • A comprehensive focus on differentiating classroom curriculum to address the learning needs of the range of learners in each class. Children are offered differentiated learning and/or homework activities or tasks depending on their capacity to achieve. We set very high expectations for learning and teach children to aspire, to set personal goals and to take risks in their learning.
  • Student leadership through Playground Leaders, Library Leaders, Student Council and School, House and Cultural Captains.
